As you will know by now the response to our Secret Retreat Workshops has been phenomenal but there are still a handful of places left.  In order to book your place on this years retreat please get in contact with us either by emailing us directly at or by completing the form at the bottom of this page.

How much is it?  The total cost of the workshop is £1500 per person.  A booking fee of £500 is required in order to secure your place and the remaining balance is due on July 18th 2017.
The price includes:
  • airport transfer from Naples airport on 12th Sept and back to Naples airport on 16th Sept (The transfers will accommodate the main UK-Naples Direct flights on the above days.  If your flight arrives outside these date and times then you will need to arrange for and pay for your transfer seperately).
  • your own room with ensuite bathroom and sun terrace or balcony.
  • all workshop classes/shoots.
  • all meals from welcome drinks and dinner on 12th Sept to breakfast on 16th Sept.
  • Transfers throughout the workshop.
  • a few surprises along the way!

How many people will be attending the workshop?  There will be between 25 – 30 attendees

Will everyone be shooting at the same time?  No!  This aspect of the workshop it crucially important to us as there is nothing worse than a bun-fight! The attendees will be divided into smaller groups and assigned a time to photograph each styled shoot.  This allows for plenty of time per person and per group but also the opportunity to engage with our couples on an individual basis.  For the in-between times there will be plenty of other lovely things to capture (including each other!) and we will be on hand to chat and offer assistance.

How will the days be organised? Each day is different! There will be one full day of shoots with two real couples, we’ll have one full day of classrooms on the shaded hotel terrace overlooking the ocean (certainly the best classroom we’ve ever been in) and one day which is split between a half day classroom and a half day or relaxation for you to enjoy the hotel pool or explore the beautiful local town of San Marco.

Who is The Secret Retreat aimed at?
Female wedding photographers who are keen to book destination weddings (or more of them) and/or are looking for a relaxed retreat style workshop in the sun which covers all of the most important topics. You should also be keen to learn from three very enthusiastic photographers who tell it like it is, hold nothing back and are willing to kick your arse (albeit gently) if necessary. Each of us have highly successful businesses that work for US – we want you to have the same.

What stage of my business should I be at?
Any! Last year we had women attending who hadn’t even started (or named!) their business, those had been established for 10 years and everything in between.


What will I take away from the workshop?
Friends for life, an ongoing business support network and a great tan. But seriously…Lucy will be covering branding 101 and getting you to dig a bit deeper and do some soul searching along the way; Claire will be talking pricing, marketing and destination weddings and Andrea will be telling you how to find your ideal brides and put yourself exactly where you need to be – right in front of them. Add to this a little downtime for poolside relaxation after a busy summer of weddings (hopefully – if not, we can help!), evenings enjoying local cuisine with the whole gang and of course, beautifully styled shoots where we will share our secrets and you can practice your posing skills with our real couples.

What camera gear do I need to bring?   One camera and a couple of lenses should be fine.

Can I use the photos taken on the workshop on my website/blog?  Yes of course.

I can’t speak Italian!  That’s ok… but obviously if you have a phrase book bring it along as the locals are very friendly!

Where do I fly to?  The nearest airport to Santa Maria is Naples.  Easyjet, Monarch, Thomson and BA all fly there from various UK airports.  You are responsible for booking your own flights but Julie will be able to offer assistance with flight information should you need it.

How do I get to the Hotel Mareluna in San Marco? A transfer from Naples airport will be organised for all flights arriving before midday (this covers the majority of direct UK flights) and is included in the cost. The coach will leave the airport once the last flight has arrived and everyone is accounted for. Those arriving earlier in the morning will all meet up in the Blue Bar and you can start to get to know one another! If your flight is outside of the main dates/times you will be responsible for your own travel arrangements – Julie will be able to help organise but the cost would need to be covered by you.

OK, you had me at ‘Ciao’ – how do I book?   Email us … or by using the booking form below– If you are booking more than one place you must provide the email address of all attendees. We will then reply on a strict first come first served basis with details of how to pay your booking deposit via online banking.  You will then have one hour to complete the payment of your (non-refundable) booking fee. If this is not paid in this time your place will be re-released to others waiting.

Due to the huge response we have had to the preview site we are certain that these places will go very quickly.  To avoid disappointment we recommend you book as quickly as possible.

What happens after I book?  That is where the fun begins…  You will be invited to a secret Facebook group for all the attendees and the team.  The aim of the group is to provide ongoing support and friendship leading up to our Italian adventure and beyond.  We will be exploring creativity and all aspects of your photography business in an open conversation throughout the lead up.  Logistical advice and information will be provided through the Facebook group.
